THE CAUSES OF SMALL SCALE BUSINESS FAILURE IN NIGERIA.

ABSTRACT

This is an in depth study in the problems factors facing small scale business.

        They are vital engine to economic growth and development that link the various sectors of the economy.  Particularly the inter-industrial commercial linkage.

        However, without finance the dream of industrialization through small scale business cannot be a reality where the researcher examined the internal and external sources of fund through question.

        Firstly, workshop and seminars should be organized for business men to minimize the tendency for ostentation’s consumption.

        Secondly, there is the need to stimulate bank lending to small industry through favourable rediscount policies.

        Thirdly, the Central Bank and other monetary authorities should make efforts to small scale business Industrialists to obtain loanable funds to embark on visible projects.

        Finally, there is need for credit agencies to study the viability of proposed project and audience necessary assistance rather than insisting on collateral, security or incorporate personnel running of the day to day activities of the business.

        Small scale business and their principal operator or owners constitute the real fabric at a nations of an economy developed ones.

        Small scale business helps in the industrialization of finance to be reality in the Federal government of Nigerian to established a number of Banks like Commercial Bank (NIDB), Nigerian Agricultural and Co-operative Bank (NACB), Nigerian economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND).

        Finally, Small Scale business helps the researcher to get the full meaning of small scale business, the sources of funds to small scale business, the failure or problem of financing small scale business in Nigeria and make suggestions and recommendations on how to eliminate these problems and other problems being related.
